Poor punctuality was a problem on numerous Central routes which is why a lot of them got chopped up in to shorter routes.

Noting what you say above about over-long Central Trains routes, I am not sure of my facts, but did Central Trains ever run a service from Aberystwyth to Grimsby Town ?

Never heard of that one but they did run Skegness to Cardiff.
