Manchester Airport to Stockton - Any permitted

which routes are valid on this ticket? Any unusual stock I can ride?

Work are sending me to the UK and I thought I'd make the most of the trip!

Routes have to be traced on either Routeing Guide Maps HV + DT, or Maps HV + DY + YM, or Map MT

The first two combinations give you the route via Chinley, Sheffield, Doncaster, York (via Selby if you want) and Northallerton, then direct or via Darlington to Middlesbrough. Or the route via Chinley, Sheffield and then to York via one or more of Pontefract, Wakefield and Leeds, and then on as before.

MT gives you Manchester Piccadilly, then via Huddersfield or Hebden Bridge, then via Bradford or Dewsbury, then Leeds, then to York (via Harrogate or Pontefract if you want), then as before to Middlesbrough.

Nearest you get to unusual stock is Grand Central from York to Eaglescliffe.

Depends what you define as unusual? What day is it going to be?

If it were to be Sunday, you could take the 11:07 Darlington to Hartlepool, one of only 2 services per week to call at Tees-side Airport, and one of only 4 scheduled Northern services per week to use the section between Eaglescliffe and Stockton.

Of course, this is very day and time dependent, but you did ask.

That runs on Friday and is it a valid route for the ticket in question? I know it isn't a valid route for 'South Manchester' group stations to Newcastle but don't know about Manchester Airport to Stockton.

My last two journeys on the Harrogate line were on a 155 and a 144 - depending on the definition of unusual both of those could fit the fill.

I know you were asking about Any Permitted, but if you did want to find the cheapest fare, Thornaby station is almost as close to Stockton as Stockton station itself and is more likely to have cheap Advance fares as it can involve travelling on TPE all the way.

My flight lands at Manchester Airport for 08:35

I'll be travelling on the Monday 6th of February Manchester Airport - Stockton
And Saturday 11th of February Stockton - Manchester Airport

My departing flight takes off at 16:50.

Both days I have all day on an Off-peak return to make the journey.
