Im going to Acton Bridge on Saturday from The Airport, what confuses me is the fare,If I was going only to Crewe its £11.20 return, yet booking to Acton Bridge via Crewe its still the same fare. Why dont they charge for the second sector.
Also has Acton Bridge Station got anywhere to huddle up in, as its predicted to be very cold weather,if not I will have to catch the 13-01 service home as there is a wait of 4 hours for my next train. This wont matter if it turns out to be mild.

What you find with some journeys is they charge the same fare to a group of stations, opposed to charging different fares for every station.

If you had been travelling Monday-Friday daytime then it would have been worth considering getting the 48 bus between Acton Bridge Station and Greenbank Hotel: http://springfieldandhowardscoachhire.co.uk/timetable.htm Greenbank Hotel is next to Greenbank station (on the Chester-Altrincham line) or 15 minutes walk from Hartford station (on the Liverpool-Crewe line.) There's also a 82 bus between Greenbank Hotel and Hartford station.

However, on a Saturday you can still get the number 1 bus from Weaverham (about 1 mile from Acton Bridge station) to Greenbank Hotel: https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/GetTime...9541-0764534923d1&id=31736&date=140601-160110
