Network Rail have announced the start of an upgrade to Manchester Airport station.

Platform lengthening
Track layout changes

It allows for more 6 cars to be stacked in the platforms. All gets delivered in early 2028.

Makes lots of sense until you think about all the 4 car 350's northern are getting... Does anyone know the plans for this, as I belive the local stations picadilly - airport were recently legthenened to take 6x24m sets (e.g 2x331)

Platforms 1-3 to be lengthened, these are the southern-most platforms.
