Just 2 more wins and they will be in the champions league next season, thats if Tottenham lose to Chelsea and to Liverpool.
But anything can happen between now and the end of he season.

I think it is great what has happened to the club over the past few years.

Hey listen connor you have more chance of finishing 3rd then we have. For a season to have been so good we have not only hit the buffer stops, we have totally derailed with all wheels off the road such is the calamitous demise that has befallen a team. In February in 4 competitions at the end of march out of 3 in the space of 13 days and by the middle of April out of the remaining 1.

The mood at the Arse is one of total frustration and for years now we have been punching well above our weight. Such is the annoyance that matterings and booings of the teams performance are regular occurrences. To only win 2 games out of your last 15 is for want of a better word relegation form. On the last game of the season i know of at least 2 different demonstrations, both wanting the club to know that enough is enough. At the end of that last game one group has requested the fans to leave the stadium at the final whistle so therefore when the players go round for the lap of honour there will only be half or less then half a stadium.

The only hope i have of this season is that our friends from the wrong end of Seven Sisters Road don't get into the champions league next season.

edit: Come to think of it how on Earth will they manage to satisfy UEFA's new financial rules? There has to be some slithery goings on behind the scenes (or of course they're yet to come into force)


As for this weekends' games a win against West Brom will not only give me bragging rights in the house but will see the Villa through to safety (PS: get well soon Houllier). Hope Wolves stay up, especially if it's at the expense of Birmingham City

Agreed, I started to hate them because of the way they threw money around. Not even Chelsea were as bad in turn causing the massive overvaluation of players.

Also they tend to be foreign making the England team worse but that's a whole new can of worms

Only a City [or Chelsea ] fan could come out with this.

Newcastle ARE a big club. Not so long ago, they were runners-up in a major competition for four years running (PL, PL, FAC, FAC), and have played in the Champions League (which under that name is only roughly 20 years old). As for my team, did we not take the lead in the 2009 FA Cup Final in record time? Or am I imagining the fact that my brother came to watch after about 45 seconds and we were already 1-0 up?

And if United did go 41 years without winning something, it would have been before the 1950s. That is far too long ago for it to be applicable. How would a Huddersfield fan feel if you told them they were a "small" club, even though they are one of only four clubs to have won three League titles on the spin? Or, even worse, if someone said City were a small club because they haven't won anything since roughly when United were most recently promoted to the top flight - nearly 40 years ago?

Even West Ham are a big club, and they deserve to have been closed down.

And lastly, back to my team, I seem to recall Rafa Benitez calling Everton a "small club". That drew widespread condemnation - even from Liverpool fans. And which club has had the most seasons in the top flight of English football? [sarcasm] Oh wait... it might just be Everton. [/sarcasm] City spent longer outside of the top flight in the 90s and 2000s than we ever have, since the League was founded - almost 125 years ago.
