I was curious what buses everyone suggests In Malvern as I know Tewksbury is near but can only see a limited Thursday service otherwise what transport gets you around as I’ve a free bus pass so that’s how I’ve always travelled in cities and villages throughout the country.

No service to Tewkesbury. You'd have to go on a fairly extensive tour via Evesham, Gloucester or Cheltenham to get there.
Malvern is fairly limited with buses. A decent option might be to do a Worcester-Malvern-Ledbury-Worcester (44-675-417) loop; Worcester to Malvern is frequent-ish (44), the other two are council operated routes (675, 417) that run a few times a day.
A bonus tip with the 675 -- if you want to do some walking you can walk from Malvern centre via St Annes Well to West Malvern to pick up the bus, or vv.
That there was a Railway from Malvern that ran via Tewkesbury, and that there was a Midland Red garage at Malvern, it is disappointing there is no bus to Tewkesbury, on that thought are there any members here with knowledge of how many rail replacement services that were introduced with the Beeching axe of railways still run today?

The Midland Red garage at Malvern closed in 1976. However, services to Tewkesbury were already gone by then; in fact, thanks to Timetable World, they appear to have gone by 1969 and even in 1960, they were confined to a couple of round trips on a Wed, Sat and Sun.
Tewkesbury was served on the Birmingham to Gloucester service from Worcester which was incrementally reduced over the years to be Worcester to Gloucester 372/373/374 which was mainly Worcester to Upton with a few to Tewkesbury and a couple to Gloucester by the mid 1990s. I think that was later trimmed so it was Worcester to Upton with a few running through to Tewkesbury - I did it in summer 2018 when a couple of 363s were extended south from Upton

Both locations are shown on the South Malvern zone map as travel points that you can reach, but since both are just outside the zone, I'm not sure whether you could book a single journey between them. The concessionary pass is accepted on the on demand buses, but you do need to register and book through the app.
I've used the service occasionally in the Bromsgrove zone and it has worked well, but I've not used it in any of the other zones.
Looking at the website, the South Malvern area scheme suggests that travel is available to Tewkesbury town centre as you can cross the boundary to the point of interest shown. Tewkesbury town is shown as point 18. You cannot though travel between Malvern and Tewkesbury as both points are outside the zone. One booking from Malvern to Hanley Swan then another from there to Tewkesbury might work though.
I seem to recall when staying in a small village around 3 miles west of Tewkesbury around 2-3 years ago there was a limited minibus service to the town. The Worcestershire on Demand service has probably replaced this.

"If a passenger doesn’t have access to the app, bookings can be made via the telephone however, live information can’t be given if bookings are made by phone."

Depends on if the community bus is worth booking, https://www.communityaction.org.uk/bus-routes I feel terrible that someone whose been self reliant on these years having pre booked all my trains there in advance to save money has such little bus options, I decided against a stop in Worcester on the way back to spend 4 hoyrs In Cheltenham, I’ll look at the 417 and 675 otherwise I’d have to wing it on wear to visit

Yeah I hate booking through apps, all hotels and restaurants have been through the phone, I’m a generation beyond this, the computers and technology are too crazy to not use old fashioned methods

Well that’ll depend on price, thought Malvern might be good to explore local villages but any idea which council or authority that sets these limitations, Bath and Oxford haven’t given me issues

Seems cruel to think every visitor isn’t gonna want to go by bus, surely old aged pensioners are reliant on public transport as they are in Leeds, I know many routes across the country where a bus can offer more stops from villages and towns to town, I’ll certainly try see what the excuses the authorities are making

To get 14 miles should be easy, taxis must make a fortune if people want to get across villages and towns but Worcestershire seems to make life difficult, as a tourist I think they should not be hampering any opportunities to get people to get from Malvern across to other areas or u spend my entire 3 days in that 1 place
I had not appreciated that you were only wanting to go to Tewkesbury on a day trip. I fully recommend the Abbey and the micro pub at the Cross. Beyond that though, it is a pleasant small market town with old buildings. You can walk along by the river too.
The area between Malvern and Tewkesbury is very rural and prosperous and from memory few villages are actually on any main road but along narrow country lanes or dead ends. This makes for very poor bus operating territory hence early withdrawal of bus routes in the area and lack of through services between towns.
At Malvern the main bus route is to Worcester whilst at Tewkesbury the main route is provided to Cheltenham by Stagecoach. I also recall seeing a 60 seat single deck on route to Evesham.
Tewkesbury is worth a visit. (As an aside my great, great grandfather was once stationmaster there on the long gone Malvern to Tewkesbury branch. And although it sounds like that route might have made your journey much easier in years gone by, I suspect the very sparse timetable would have been a problem even then.)
Back to the buses, the bus service around Malvern (other than to Worcester) is quite limited, so the introduction of the on-demand buses has probably improved the situation. The on- demand buses are minibuses run by Diamond. They run 7am to 7pm, weekdays and Saturdays, but 7pm is the absolute latest that you can finish a journey. For more information it might be worth giving them a call on their enquiries number - 01905 846180.

Wow I think it’s tight boundaries yet West Yorkshire to North Yorkshire, other neighbours that cross because the authorities agree, yeah I will change trains at Worcester and Cheltenham to get there so that’s why I just went by EttC suggestions on where near to Malvern to go, yeah I certainly got enough restaurants in mind in Malvern so will be back by 17:00.
Malvern hasn’t got great bus services in the country, Hanley Swan requires a changes and it’s less miles than my house to Leeds.

It’s a 3 night trip, like when in Paignton I could go out to Stoke Newton etc and timed it well, if a place deserves a rail service then you’d expect good buses but I could stay around Malvern but I wanted to give it’s Neighbours a chance, my grandad lives in a village where you go up little narrow lanes and when the bus service to Chester was independent it was 3 times an hour.
Malvern wise, I can walk a lot, might be antique shops as there’s a auction house with a lover of wearing scarfs, I’ll drop him 1 off.

Not directly relevant to the original post, there was at least as late as 1969 a Bristol Omnibus service 546 that ran every day between Great Malvern and Cheltenham via Tewkesbury. Every 2 hours or so and some journeys had a break in Tewkesbury so that passengers could enjoy the attractions of the town
The timetable made it clear that this was an attractive and therefore popular route for enjoying the countryside.
It's sad that it has gone but like Midland Reds 144 service between Birmingham and The Malverns which ran every 20 minutes on Sundays with duplicates, it is a memory. The car and changing habits killed them off.
