I've just swapped my Rail Warrant slip for an off peak return from Cheshunt to Liverpool for the Mersey a Electrics day I won on eBay.

Bar the ticket person trying to give me a Cheshunt to Liverpool St ticket (!) I have noticed that the route says "any permitted" with a cross in front of it but it is not a Maltese one.

They said that will "probably" get you across town....

What's the reality please?

The ticket machines usually just print a + ahead of the routeing, if this is what you have then it is a 'Maltese Cross' in terms of the cost of crossing London being included on your ticket.
