It seems procedures on the freight side are getting very lax, with the incorrect loading of a container which did loads of damage to Basingstoke canopy & loads of delays to all of the following services.

This isn't the only time I've heard of parking/hand brakes being left on.

I'm seriously starting to wonder if Disney Corp. are running it because it definitely seems to be run by a Mickey Mouse outfit.

That's unbelievable... I wonder who has the bill for the damage caused by the freight train?
As far as I know, all train delay minutes are taken by the TOC concerned and at the end of the period they are balanced out against delays caused by other TOCs/ Network Rail.

The balance becomes payable.

As far as Infrastructure train delays and cancellations affecting renewals work are concerned there is effectively a cap above which the FOC does not pay. Some Contracts however require the Infrastructure Contractor to bear all their losses, staff, machines, loss of profit, rework, etc which can be substantial and means that this has to be covered in the potential losses (risk "pot") thus increasing the costs to everyone.

I am so glad I have not had to go to London so far this year. With all of the weather issues and contractor cockups affecting the WCML, and the DLR station at Bank being closed, the trip from Birmingham International to East India (DLR Station) and return could have taken an age :D

Newsflash!

They've found the contractor responsible for doing the damage!

They ran a full medical scan on the individual & one of the scan pictures is now available for public viewing...
