Does anyone know what is happening between Paddington and Reading?

There have been multiple conflicting updates over the past few hours, with the line being closed earlier, to it reopening, with it now being closed again?

National Rail Enquiries state -
‘Due to the emergency services attending multiple incidents between Reading and London Paddington all lines are currently closed.’

Previous issues were caused by a lineside fire near Didcot Parkway, but this has caused more major problems.
Condolences to the families, friends and driver involved, of course.

Fire earlier in Reading area, trespasser around Stockley bridge JCT and a fatality further along the line towards Padd.

It’s been a rough few days for GWR.

Saying that however I’ve been in Devon all week and everything has been superb. Travelling back yesterday my 11:01 Torquay-Paddington was originally going to be cancelled due to the inbound being involved in a fatality shortly after departure from London but sharp work from Great Western saw the service reinstated with a fresh unit at Westbury so apart from a few minutes delay following a late freight near Hungerford it went without a hitch all the way from Torbay to Paddington and although heavily reserved coach G was comfortably busy.

We refer posters to our guidance re Service Disruption Threads:
Having reviewed recent threads discussing disruption on the railway we would request that members do not post threads relating to fatalities and other incidents (such as broken down trains or signalling faults) on the railway unless they require advice on their alternative travel options or if the case has been reported by reputable national media outlets.

thanks
