Well done for that then
Are they specific devices rather than just using wheelchair ramps for another purpose, then?

Is there now also signalling problems there as well? On OTT it shows **** in a few signalling blocks

Looks like chaos! Wondering if there is a separate issue between Bourne end and Ledburn junctions as even class 4 freights and class 2 passenger services are being put on the fast between these two. Makes no sense why they took the north junction out.
Got the 1638 Berko - Watford Southern - gamely kept going - but switching moves fast to slow lines slowed us down - freight shoved into Kings Langley and other loops. DC now running through I believe after debris cleared off the lines. 20L on the Abbey - but no issue (the isolation on the main line takes the branch out !)
The train to train transfer boards is an intiative I am proud to have pioneered back in 1996 after a shameful incident (caused by a displaced registration arm at Roade) - where a 321 was stranded with passengers on board for over 2 hours one Sunday PM - we developed this with other partners and it has been used a good number of times. That joint enquiry into that mishap was one of the best I ever called - pleased to see the concept and equipment still in use.
I heard rumours of a track circuit failure around Bourne end Jn but not entirely sure if that's true. Watford north Jn wasn't so much taken out as never put back-it was removed to allow the remodelling of Watford Jn station when it was resignalled but they weren't allowed to take the possession to put the junction back because it was when harbury tunnel collapsed and blocked the chiltern mainline. No idea why they haven the put it in since though (it's been nearly two years now...)
That's going to cost a quid or three in Delay Repay...
The DC lines are all now open after OHLE teams moved the displaced wires and associated debris. The trackbed of the WCML proper is, I believe, also OK for when the wires go back in. 5G29 is presently being assisted by the 1Z99 rescue loco, with the " **** " markings on the train describers being the signal sections occupied by the wrong-direction move of the loco along the Down Fast.
The stock from the 1A service working the replacement 9G29 is now approaching Birmingham Intl with a rather vivid 238mins of delay.
From a friend - DC lines opened at 1936 - just as well , as the (good old) DC has an honourable tradition of helping out the main line in difficulties.
Only 200 pax or so... could be a lot worse! Though I suspect the rest of the departures from Euston this evening will provide a fair whack of claims in the inboxes of the TOCs affected.
It will, it's a requirement of the Ticketing & Settlement Agreement so not reliant on any bilateral relationshipI'm wondering if ticket acceptance will be the same when Govia lose the London Midland franchise. At the moment they are pretty quick at accepting cross London transfers when Southern aren't in the mood to run the WLL.
Oddly I got a completely clear run on the 1454 LM Brum-Euston as far as Bletchley, first thing I heard of any issues was the board at Bletchley having all the cancelled trains lopped off making it look rather sparse.
(Is that one that gets overtaken? I let the 1414 go as it was full and standing, the 54 had plenty of room most of the time)
I was on that train as well!

Passenger service didn't really start for another 20mins or so. My sources say the line was able to accept passenger services from 1954...
Near enough, anyway![]()
NevermindEr, possibly hello, then?
I was in the rearmost left hand (facing direction of travel) window seat in the front coach from New St (which would have become the 5th coach south of Northampton). Reading this forum on my laptop for a fair chunk of it.
Edit: oh, er, I'm talking southbound, not the xx54 off Euston.
Have created another thread, but appears that someone climbed on to the top of a Pendolino. Very distressing, by all accounts. Also adding to the problem at the opposite end, there are currently major disruptions at Manchester Piccadilly

Although typical local newspaper exaggerations "Passengers travelling to and from the station are reporting numerous train cancellations" where as RTT doesn't show anything as being cancelled
Now reported as...
BTP officers attended Manchester Piccadilly Station on Friday 1st December 2017 after a report of a person coming into contact with overhead electrical lines and suffering injuries consistent with electrocution.
Officers from BTP attended the incident, along with North West Fire and Ambulance which was reported to police at 22:53 and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
Paramedics also attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
