what's going on in maidenhead and the thames valley. the cis upgrade has been delayed for months and months. clocks were removed ages ago. when is the new system being installed? anyone know? thanks.

At Maidenhead the installation has started and is scheduled to take 4 weeks, this is the first week. Regarding the rest of the Thames Valley, FGW are going through stations a couple at a time, it will take as long as it takes, as this is a massive operation and will take time. You'd be surprised how many Thames Valley stations actually have the new system now, such as stations towards Redhill.

The new CIS at Maidenhead is operational - and not, I may say, before time. I was last there last night on my way home from work; Telent (the contractors) have had a lot of overnight re-wiring to do, and it appears that all that's left to install is a screen in the ticket hall.

The Reading-Basingstoke route is almost all done - just Reading West to go.

The North Downs route is still a work in progress.
