Do any of you have large magazine collections and if so, have you attempted to archive these digitally? Did you use a scanner or a camera mounted device?

This is something I hope to do, then hopefully obtain old back issues to scan - sadly I lost all my Rail, Model Rail and Railway modeller magazines from the late 80's/90's, I'm hoping there are still copies out there & the publishers did tell me they were looking to slowly digitise every Rail/Rail Enthusiast magazine from the first issue, whether they still intend to do this I don't know - fingers crossed!

I collect Rail Magazine and must have a pile of 50 issues, plus some older ones in folders. I haven't attempted copying them electronically as each page can take around 10-40mb of data, you'll need plenty of spare room on your computer to do it. It's more efficient data-wise to retype on PC notepad or word editor and then copy pictures from a camera taken of a photo in the magazine.
