M5000 Movements

Hi,
The Metrolink M5000's get deliverd to Queens Road Depot for commisioning but then get stored at Old Trafford Afterwards, so in theory the tram is hauled by a fellow class member or T68, until Mosley Street Closes this will be the only M5000 multiple working.
During a recent trip to the trafford depot i saw 3030 had not yet been vinyled so the QR to OT depot movements will be with unvinyled trams.
Does anyone have any pics of this movement or know when they are.

Dont think theres any images anywhere, they are moved in the middle of the night by another tram or the SPV. After the first delivery they were arriving with Vinyls already applied but recently they have been arriving without. I dont know why, possibly they were being lost in transit from Vienna.

That's something else im strugling to find pics of, the SPV away from queens road, theres a video of route gauging at Shudehill an 1991/92 but thats about it i think.

Ive seen it on sidings once or twice pulling a flatbed trailer with large cable wheels but ive never seen it moving myself.

This is the only pic i can find, the SPV is on the back and at the front is a hired in loco, ive been told what it is once but i cant remember.

Yeah their renting that heritage owned shunter for Trafford depot at the moment, I wonder if its temporary until the drivers are trained on the new yard or whether they would be looking for a permanent shunter.

Is there a seating specification on these trams giving thickness of filling and the type of same, plus the type of fabric to be used as coverings? If so, would these tests have been carried out to meet the fire regulations in Austria and also are the seating as supplied, fully compliant with UK fire regulations with accredited certification.

Have tests been carried out on this seating and used for evaluation purposes?

I'd have thought anything like that would comply with E.U fire regulations - which began replacing national systems some years ago.

Are you concerned about the seating? It seems similar to the design used on some metros abroad and also some UK buses.

Its more comfy than the old seats as well despite having much less padding.

It was seeing the other thread about the recent bus fire at a roundabout that made me think of asking my question.

I am not totally up-to-date with EU regulations, so thank you for your reply.

I am worried what some idiot what might try to do with a lighter on a tram out of sheer stupidity, having seen scorch marks on some bus seat upholstery obviously caused by this type of vandalism.
