M&GN Ferry Station

Hi, I've just found this forum.
I am making a model in 7mm scale of Ferry Station on the M&GN just north of Wisbech. The old wooden platform shelter is long gone, but does anyone know what colour it would have been in, say, the 40s/50s?
I also need a track plan of the yard.
Are there any books that I could get that have that info or maybe M&GN authorities online?

"A guide to the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway" by Nigel J. L. Digby published in 1993 (Ian Allan) gives good overall coverage to this line. There is a photograph and track plan of Ferry within. As I recall, the same publisher also produced a similar volume some years earlier but I would think that both are now out of print. Another avenue for you to explore might be through the M. & G. N. Circle if you are not already associated with this group.
Another on-line group of worthy and knowledgeable people is RMweb whose prime concern is modelling but worth a look if you are not already a member.

Edit, having since looked at your blog I see that you already know of the M. & G. N. Circle.

I think I will have to get hold of Nigel Digby's book. I didn't realise he had track plans in there.
I will also try the Circle, but their website section covering drawings seems well out of date.
Alas, a spat with the guy who runs RMWeb has resulted in my being thoroughly banned from there. I can't even click a google images search for that forum! I can't honestly say I'm sorry about that.

So I see, but apparently the details I seek are also in a book called Branch Lines round Wisbech, which I do believe we have in Wisbech Library!

That's great to hear someones doing some more on that line. It's very much a forgotten apart from a few enthusiasts. I'm currently planning on doing a small model of the Eye station. many thanks for that post. It's kind of you to put all the info in. My dear wife has bought me Branch Lines round Wisbech but is insisting I don't get it till Christmas!
I am currently using her laptop as my pootah has crapped out till it can be mended next Saturday, but I'll see if I can use hers to view the vids.

Are you local to this line? I'm in Outwell, so quite close to the line and the tramway and the GE line from Wisbech to Lynn. Lots to see!

Yeah I'm in Eye so on the western end of the M&GN line. I run the Eye website I posted. I've read about the Outwell tramway a few times. I've glanced through Branch Lines around Wisbech but not read it properly, if its anything like Peterborough to King's Lynn also by Middleton Press it'll be a good read. Have you seen this video? http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/139644 Shame they built a housing estate on the terminus at Upwell...

Question is will the Bramley Line ever re-open?

I've drawn the down platform building from the book, but can't find any pics of the slightly smaller (toilet?) on the Lynn end. Would anyone have anything on that?
