Lyon - Paris classic line TER stock

Does anyone have any information on the types of trains used on the Paris Bercy - Lyon classic line TER services via Dijon and Mâcon? I believe Corail stock used to be used, but I don't know if this has been replaced by Régiolis units?

You can see the rolling stock on the SNCF website or in their app, usually 1 day in advance. I had a quick look at a few trains and only saw Coradia Liners. Maybe there's still some Corail around, but then I didn't see it.

There's still some semi-fast TER services Dijon to/from Lyon loco hauled with corail stock, but Dijon to Paris and Lyon to Paris through trains are all Coradia Liners.

There may be some rush hour services from Bercy/Gare de Lyon to Larroch Mignes, about a third of the way towards Dijon.

Generally the SNCF app shows train formations pretty accurately and if it's scheduled to be a unit there's usually a pictorial depiction of the unit and it's livery.

Loco hauled services are shown in grey, much more outline type graphics and merely indicate the end the loco is on and the number of carriages.

It's never let me down yet!

I believe that the Corails are going if not gone. In any case, even in 2022 when I did a 'farewell' non TGV all corail trip Paris - Lyon - Geneve the windows were so caked in solidified brown filth that the views of the delightful Burgundy countryside I had expected to enjoy were almost non existant unless i went and stood at the door window in the vestibule.

If you want corail in SE France probably best to concentrate on the Rhone Alpes area

Indeed they are, even the Ouigo Classic Train service between Paris and Lyon has been scrapped recently.

You will still be able to find Corail stock on :

- Bordeaux-Marseille Intercités until at the earliest 2028
- Some POLT line (Paris-Orléans-Limoges-Toulouse) services
- on the Strasbourg-Basel (at 200kph) without a going date known
- Until September 30th, 2025, between Marseille and Nice
- And on Ouigo Train Classique services between Paris and the West of the country.

Well that's a little bit unnerving for my trip in August (apologies to hijack the thread)-presume the plan is for them to see out the summer holidays before most of the units come in?

Hopefully I get lucky with the POLT too...

They are actually supposed to switch operators from SNCF to Transdev in June, but the Omnéo Premium units ordered by Transdev have not arrived yet, and it seems to be a mad scramble by Transdev to get units. Rumors is that Transdev is pleading with other regions to get leased trains, that is going to be fun.

Hopefully I get lucky with the POLT too...

You can rest assured on this one, it's the political hot potato that nobody wants to deal with and Corails have a quite bright future for them.

Still got a lot of "Corail" *** loco hauled trains in Portugal, anything IC guaranteed corail, also some IR services have corail (& even older stock on the Duoro).

***Same design stock built under licence, even down to the seats and exotic 1970s curtain shades!

Don't forget this isn't the definitive list currently - The 'Etoile de Chambery' is still a hotbed of hauled trains
