Was class 423 4VEP no. 3417, being moved from Bournemouth-Wimbledon.
On Saturday 17th January, it'll be moved down to East Grinstead by an SWT 73 for the Bluebell Railway, who have purchased the unit. It will be on display at East Grinstead until the Bluebell Railway open the extension currently taking place between Imberhorne and EG. Details here

When arriving at East Grinstead, will it be easy enough to get a photo of without having to leave the station or at least too far from it?

You should be able to get a photo of it in East Grinstead station. It has to pass through there to gain access to the siding/piece of track that it will be stabled on.
