I live in a building next to the western side of the Kew Bridge railway triangle.
While the line is mostly used by freight trains, I occasionally see luxury sleeper trains (Northern Belle and Britannic Explorer which hasn’t yet entered the revenue service) go past. They have an interesting pattern: passing northbound empty, travelling back south empty again, and then Northern Belle travels north again but with passengers.
Is this back-and-forth due to some kind of wheel wear balancing or is there some servicing being done in Acton or further north? Also do they have a base around Brentford?
