Luton to Dean—valid via Salisbury?

Hello all,

I'll be travelling from Luton to Dean (Wilts), and wish to break my journey at Salisbury on the way out, and at Southall (via Basingstoke and Reading) on the way back. I see that the SSR with Disabled Persons Railcard is £27.70, but the SSR from Luton to Salisbury is £30.35. As the fare to Salisbury is more than the fare to Dean, does this prevent me from breaking at Salisbury? I'm assuming that Route Any Permitted is valid via Salisbury as well as via Southampton, and also valid for travel via Reading.

Luton to Dean is indeed valid via Salisbury and there is no break of journey restriction on a Super Off Peak Return (SSR), or indeed any other 'walk up' / 'flexible' fare for this journey.

(Break of journey restrictions are very rarely applicable for flexible fares and it's not really enforceable because they tend not to be advertised to the consumer; this is in contrast to Advance fares)

A last-minute change of plan—I now need to travel from Luton to Winchester, returning from Salisbury (breaking journey at Southall). Would the cheapest way be to buy an SSR to somewhere on the line between WIN and SAL, e.g. Shawford or Chandlers Ford, or to stick with the original SSR to Dean, which is presumably valid via both?

A Luton-Romsey ticket would work. I don't know if there are any cheaper options around.
