On top of our good pay we also get 10 weeks annual leave :P
Banked rest days might appear as 'Annual leave,' but station staff, operational managers (excluding Train Operation Standards Managers), Revenue Control, and Service Control staff accrue these additional 15 days by working an average additional 2½ hours per week above their contracted hours. The total 52 days is made up of the standard 29 days that office workers in LUL get, 8 days for bank holidays, plus 15 banked rest days. For operational managers and Service Control, most of these days are fixed and built into the roster but some you can have from your A/L quota. For station staff (not Duty Managers) the 52 days all come from the A/L quota. Train Operators get fewer banked rest days. Not sure about the arrangement for other areas such as engineering or test trains.

The free travel is not 'subsidised' by anyone.
LU has reciprocal agreements with certain TOCs which mean their employees get a similar discount on LU services, in return for the season ticket discount afforded to LU staff.
For non-Safeguarded staff the 75% "discount" is paid for from TfL funds and is what I would class as subsidised. As a result it is taxable. It is only the discount for East Coast Trains and the former FCC network which is a result of a reciprocal agreement. This is not taxed.
