London Reconnections - In Pictures: Refurbishing the 95 Stock

A couple of interesting shots from the new look interiors of the Northern Line! Looking a little more brighter inside (and a little bit "Piccadilly"), no shots of what they've done with the perch seating area.

Looking at the pics, I cant help shake the feeling that something is missing, but I can't put my finger on it.

Wow, all blue poles. Looks a bit dull without the yellow.

I'm a bit surprised by the blue poles, I'd have expected black (for Northern line - but I see they're moving away from individual line branding) or yellow (generic pole colour) really!

Black poles would not be visually distinctive enough; they need to be a bright colour. (Same reason the Jubilee line '96 stock has yellow poles, not grey.)

I guess, I wouldn't describe the blue they've chosen as particularly 'bright' though! The article states that it's within guidelines though so evidently it is.

I am rather surprised that the poles aren't yellow. Perhaps they're going for yellow on the SSR and dark blue on the deep level...

I dont know why black is not allowed, it contrasts probably the best on a light background like the walls of the train.

Boarded a refurbished unit last Friday. Thanks for the heads up from the thread, or I may not have noticed.

One of the rubber seals or whatever it was was hanging loose, so it appears they did a great job! :)
