TfL were always reluctant to release WTTs, some would argue understandably. Then recently they sort of seemed to finally give in under a FOI request. These are the same as those gained under the FOI request, so they've probably just thought they might as well put them on their site. Definitely interesting though!

Originally when they gave in and admitted they had to issue them under FOI they refused to issue electronic versions as they claimed that it would too expensive as someone would have to scan the complete paper version in and then upload it. So if you put an FOI request for the WTTs they sent you paper versions of the whole WTT for all the lines you requested. It worked out to quite an obscene amount of paper.

Wasn't there something proposed/accepted/something a while back that means that anything FOI requested would have to be made open data (or, at least, publicly available)? This would make sense, if so.

They probably realised that responding to FoI's is costing them quite a bit of money.

It would appear that they are also going to add London Bus working timetables to the site also.

I was searching for something regarding this last month, and noted an FOI refusal on these grounds.

As bb21 points out, this should save a lot of time processing these kinds of FOI requests.
