LU Uniform History?

My interest was peaked by the uploading of this series on YouTube.
It got me wondering about the recent (post 90s) history of the Uniform, and how it has changed since then. It certainly has changed since that video was filmed (2002), but I wonder if someone can tell me how often, and when?

Also, do they still wear caps/hats? I have used the service on and off in recent times, but can't really remember noticing them. If not, when were they removed?

The thunderbird uniform you are talking about came out circa 2000. The blue was made darker a few years later and the check shirt gave way to a plain blue shirt with button collar circa 2004. Drivers got polos and fleeces around this time too. That uniform remained for a good ten years or so before the latest manifestation. I think compulsory wearing of hats and ties went in 2004 with the darkening of the uniform.

A casual, some would say scruffy, look of polo shirts, beanie hats and fleeces replaced the more traditional shirt, tie jacket from around the 2006. It is also now very cost driven with cheapest options being the order of the day so the quality has greatly suffered. The stores supplying uniform were recently moved from the purpose built warehouse in North Acton (which featured on the programme) to the former underground car park of the former PCO building in Islington.
