They'll email an update every month for 6 months and if AC1 didn't go good for others you'll get an invite.

Could be sooner depends on how many AC1s

Thank you for the info KCJones. I would imagine though the amount of applicants that have applied I'm sure a large pass rate would be submitted? If that makes sense:) :)

Checked my old emails and I applied last March, went into the pool and had the AC1 & AC2 in November. Might be quicker this time with less applications.

Although I'm still waiting on a training start date !

I spoke to the friend who told me to apply for this job today, he`s a train operator on the hammersmith line. He said don`t be surprised if you get contacted for assessment dated within the next three months:p:p:p

Hi Kushtymushty,

Do you mean your friend is suggesting there is a possibility peeps could be contacted for the Train Operator Role? Those that are in the pool? How good would that be ay?

Hi Everyone, stumbled across this thread when preparing for the TFL tube operator position. It took a while for TfL to respond to my SJ1 test, but i recently completed the AC1 so hopefully something good happens lol. There wasn’t much external student when I went to the test (only 2 including myself) so maybe the main external student AC1 will be later one. Good luck :)

Hi Chanelle25,
My friend said last time they ran an external recruitment campaign they called candidates from the pool to attend assessment. I hope he's right fingers crossed !

I was wondering when doing the "Following information test" and "Understanding information" test, Say I was running out of time and had like 20 seconds left, Would it be better to guess an answer or leave it blank.

I know there is a 25% chance of getting it correct but getting it wrong can also have a negative effect.

What would you do? and why?

For those that are in the pool, don’t give up hope. I was placed in the pool over a year ago and now passing out as a train op.
On the other hand, continue on with your life as normal and somewhat forget about the application as it’s likely to be months before they contact you.
Then all I can say is once you get the invite just plan and prepare.
Good luck.

Don’t guess. Work as quickly as you can and complete as many answers as you can. Then leave the rest. All tests have more questions than you’ll be able or expected to answer.

Hi Everyone, hope your all well.
I have been invited for the AC1 and was sent the practice material but there is roughly about 5 questions in each section. so i wanted to know how you are preparing for the tests are you going over the same questions on the practice material over and over again or using other materials to practice.
thanks

I am only using the material they gave as it says if we understand how it works, We will be fine with the real test as it' similar.

make sure you time yourself with everything.

Someone I know works for TFL and they said that the internal candidates don't actually get scored on their SJT. So every internal candidate will get invited for AC1. Which would explain the hold up and the "pool of doom"

I had my assessment booked for today at 13.00 o'clock and what a nightmare it was.

I work in a Prison and was meant to finish at 11am but due to an incident I wasn't able to leave on time.

I arrived at the test centre at 13.01 but I was told the assessment had already started and it started exactly on time so I wouldn't be able to sit for the tests.

I asked if i could try for another date but I was told i couldn't, I explained my situation and the man said I have a good reason and he will email recruitment office, I also called the helpline and after explaining my situation the lady on the phone said I have a good reason and told me to email them.

When I was coming home, my head was spinning, thinking my life time dream is over. I sat on the bench at West Kensington station and I didn't even get on the first train that came.

I got on the next train and was thinking what have I done???

I got home around 2pm and didn't wanna talk to anyone. I sat there thinking about what had happened then suddenly my phone was ringing "Private Number" at 2.33pm.

I was shocked, It was TFL recruitment and they accepted my reason and has given me one chance but normally they don't give anyone any chances. I was so happy and I'm still smiling now lol I cannot believe it.

My advice to All, Arrive 30 minutes before the assessment as I was lucky this time.

Also I noticed my name was last on the list and there was about 20 people on the list.

One other person arrived late (1.15pm) but I'm not sure what happened to him.

Problem is no dates are available until July 2018 so I am constantly checking online if there is any cancellations.
