That, basically. Just out of curiosity, as I'm booked on the 2340 from Edinburgh tomorrow, which takes longer than usual and according to ScotRail is diverted in some way.

Running booked route to Rugby and then running via Long Bucky+Northampton,

That's not diverted, though, it's always booked via Northampton. It seems to be about 50-50 as to whether it actually goes that way, but if it doesn't all TRUST notices is a missed timing point.

It looks fine as far as Carlisle, and then heads down the WCML as normal. No idea where it loses the time.

Having a look it takes 3 1/2 hours for Crewe- London which seems a long time. Where as the highland takes 2 hours 2 mins. Maybe a trip around the west midlands will be required for some unknown reason. But it's shown booked via the Trent valley.

More evidence: according to this site it's not allocated to any class 90, suggesting it's going somewhere unelectrified.

What do you mean there isn't a 90 allocated to it? 028 is in EDB and there are 2 at Mossend?

90020 was on this; no idea why it was booked to take so long, had an extra 40 minutes stand at Preston compared to the normal schedule - possibly being held for engineering work to finish?

Well, it didn't go via Northampton and arrived into Euston 61 up... it was 024 and 020.
