Is the tracker playing up again or is 1111 actually on route 30?! South Bridge 10:54 and terminates Lothian Road 11:05... If it IS true, where did his route start? I am 99.999% this is a false reading again but...

Surgeons Hall, Niddrie or Newcraighall. It's very common to see deckers on the 30 in the festival. A short boost in capacity even a short distance is very helpful.

It's apparently on the 26 now.

Happened last Sunday also - the XLB picked up service at Hay Drive and did a few burls from Hay Drive to Lothian Road.

Happens in the run upto Xmas also but on service 26,31, 33 and 44.

Some of the 67 plate B5LH Gemini 3's are going for paint this week. Keep an eye out for how they come back :)

Yet another different livery to join the other 900 million the fleet has? lol. Personally, I would like to see them madder, gold and cream, just like 1125 (without the art work of course as that would be insane to have the whole fleet like that). I love the look of 1125 with the cream instead of white. Think it just looks much nicer.

I know we don't run madder colour but I forget the name lothian now have but it's close

EDIT: I missed 67 plate so it is Skylink ones. I hope they match the 496-510 with grey instead of white. I still hope for cream over white on the rest of fleet tho.

Well I usually say if you’ve not heard a rumour by 11oclock , start one :;)

We starting rumours now? Okay sounds fun my turn

Heard Lothian Country were looking to extend their services to terminate down at Fort Kinnaird as Regent Road is too over cramped with bus services, the buses will all line up across the road from Pizza Hut waiting to return to West Lothian via Brunstane

I’m just giving them what they want! And while I’m at it ECB have announced a new express service for East Saulton via Portobello, Wallyford, Tranent, New Winton and Pencaitland  the X14 and btw East Saulton is in Zone E! It’s so out of reach it skips two fare zones!

it's also a different shade of blue... sorry to be pedantic

These will be joining an existing fleet.

arent they for LC, the way you hinted earlier suggests a new livery though? Maybe Red & Cream and an expansion to Falkirk area to replace the First 29. Woah that was a joke but sounds like it could be real lol

I ask if you know if there is any chances of more cream in the current fleet or is that just something I have to just wish for? lol.[/QUOTE]
Madder and Cream??? NO! Madder and white has always been part of the Edinburgh scene. It's what makes the city so distinct from others. If we go down that direction, why not go for allover red with a thin cream or white band between decks the same as London?

Just for conversation really but been looking at Midlothian and thinking does it have the potential for a better service.

Few things ive heard mentioned on local groups and in conversation with other Midlothian locals:
- Limited services to Pathead
- Loss of the Saturday 15s
- Commutor routes to Western Edinburgh avoiding the Centre.
- Auchendinny overlooked.

On the OT front. Linking Ocean terminal does again raise the point for a Midlothian-Gyle link which I think would draw a lot more than East Lothian-OT.

Within East/Midlothian but within Lothians tenticles outwards does seem to point areas where there might be untapped footfall (maybe with minibuses/up to size of 1-50 being suited to them).

Depending on the projected market 3 things seem worth exploring:

Haddington-Pencaitland-Pathead-Gorebridge-Bonnyrigg-Straiton (Pathead service is quite limited, plus bonnyrigg-Straiton link would cater to a shopping market, Maybe hourly )

Diverting of some penicuik services via Auchendinny (Bridge a bit tight off the 47s route over eskhill so would need to go the long way or via beeslack, trim the X15 to penicuik centre to keep the number of buses the same and reintroduce an hourly Saturday run would seem the logical answer)

Penicuik/Dalkeith to Gyle/Airport via Bypass/Colinton, Westside Plaza and Edinburgh Park.

All over red would be awful as this is not London.

As for madder always being part of the Edinburgh scene. Mid 1999 Lothian introduced the Harliquen livery, and that had no madder in it at all and that ran for 10 years. Lothian also ran 1-50 with gold before the repaint, it ran 201-215 in cream/madder when it launched those, and of course, https://i2-prod.edinburghlive.co.uk...5986.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200b/0_Te4Cmpqrjpeg.jpg which is cream & madder and this is the very similar colouring of 1125, which I personally think looks stunning.

Maybe it is white, and it's my colourblindness that is making me see differently but I see that picture as cream (white Lothan have right now looks more like peral white) I just look at 1125 and it would be nice IMO if the fleet were less clinical.

Just my opinion though.

Harlequin did have madder - a narrow band around the lower panels.
I stand corrected, I did not forget it was there but I did if that makes sense (can you tell I was not a fan of that livery overall? lol) but I should have said that the main body was not predominantly madder like the 90s. Who actually thought it was a good idea to have the harlequin livery at LB at the time? lol

Does anyone know what the holdup is with 507-10? The rest left Seafield quite quick, or is there more complex issues with those 4?

From corporation days until the launch of that awful harlequin livery (which looked cheap and nasty) it was always madder and white with a gold band. Just sheer class.

Wasn't the point of the Harlequin livery to differentiate between low floor and non low floor buses? I recall that once the last Olympians went, it was only a couple of months before the new madder livery came out, I seem to remember a Trident possibly 649 being the first.

Ah, thanks for that info.

You can forget the cream.

Any idea which route will get the oldies for Doors OPen day this Sept ?

We're waiting for bandit screen parts, then we need to paint the frames for said parts.

Wrightbus being helpful as ever - spat the dummy since we dont use them anymore.

26 again. Im sure it was 26 two years ago . Was the 7 last year and in 2016 it was the 16 . Not sure before that .
2016 with route 16 I think was the first, not sure there was vintage running in 2015. But yes, 16, 26 then 7. I'm suprised it is not route 1 given it was the first route in the city 100 years ago and Lothian are 100 years old this year.
