Any regular loco workings near where you're based nowadays?

The Channel Tunnel is on my doorstep, so that brings freight traffic, although mostly overnight I would assume. Is there a website I can use to check for scheduled non passenger workings?

Great, thanks for that. Yes, sheds for diesel plus quite a few 90’s, which presumably use the high speed line overnight - I’ll know for sure using the links you provided.

23/10/85. This location is local to me, so it will be interesting to replicate this shot 40 years on. Not so much for the train itself - it will just be one unit changed for another - but to see how the landscape has evolved. Erosion of the chalk cliffs is constant, significant slips relatively frequent. It could look very similar, alternatively whole features of the cliff face might have disappeared.

The one saving grace - I hope! - is that 2025's topography remains un-blighted by sprawl of housing developments...

The deed has been done! A bit of scouting around to find the right spot, but there was no mistaking it when the viewpoint opened out. Reckon there was still a trace of my old footprints too!

I can’t offer the immediate gratification from digital though, you’ll have to wait for the film to be developed…

EMU's, DEMU's out and about in the SE & SW. Shame I never seemed to take a shot of a Hastings unit though.

08/02/86. 3002 at Christchurch on a Weymouth - Waterloo working. Peeks were a long lived party goods suppliers that only stopped trading fairly recently due to the twin pandemics of COVID and Brexit.

What a time capsule! 40 years later -
1) the middle two tracks have been lifted,
2) both platforms signalled bi-directionally,
3) the pedestrian footbridge painted white,
4) slammers gone, now all SWR Desiros on the Portsmouth Direct Line.
The concrete arched overbridge in the distance (Park Road South) still serves as a photogenic spot for services coming from westerly direction.

26/10/86. Vic Berry, Leicester. At the time of this visit, along with various units and coaching stock, it was predominantly 25's and 45's being cut up. Peaks 45043 and 45055 mainly appear in these shots.
