Hey folks, sorry if this is a bit desperate-sounding. I went up to Bristol to get a suit on Wednesday, then got thoroughly overheated on the trains back and completely forgot about it in the overhead storage. My trip back took me on a Weymouth-bound GWR train, changing at Bath for a Romsey-bound GWR train, and finally changing at Salisbury for a London-bound SWR train. I noticed the loss at Salisbury, so the suit either went to Romsey or Weymouth.
I registered the loss with both companies (as Romsey and Weymouth are both SWR-managed) pretty much immediately. SWR's database being searchable is a blessing, while they have a backup phone hotline - whereas GWR's database seems to be closed-book and their customer support line hangs up on you if you mention lost property. Their approach seems to be "register the loss and pray computer says yes".
Visiting Bristol solely to ask their office in-person is a no-go, both in terms of monetary expense and time. Has anyone else had luck with GWR's lost property process? How likely do you reckon it is I get it back? Is there anything else I can do I haven't tried?
Sorry again for the desperate nature, but you can imagine that I'd like to avoid losing £200!
