I may have lost my Oyster card in the flat somewhere and was wondering if it would be easier to order a replacement from TfL

Looking at the website it says there is a £10 fee - does this only apply to refunds or to transferring my existing balance onto the replacement card?

I lost my Oyster a while back and had to phone up for a replacement as it had a discount loaded. They didn't charge me for it though.

I recently lost my card with a gold card discount on it. They couldn't transfer this to a replacement card so all they could do was issue a cheque for the credit (at no charge), and then I had to obtain a new card myself to replace it.
So essentially a cost of £5 for the deposit.

Normal adult cards should apparently be FOC, the credit is transfered to a new card which is then posted out. The £10 admin fee is for issuing a refund if you don't want a new card.

Thanks - they transferred with no fee - the website wasn't that clear as to what circumstances fees applied (couldn't tell if credit an account was the same as credit a new card)
