Loss of an LBSCR station

Find it sad to see an 1881 ex London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LBSCR) station be demolished. This was the second station at Polegate and remained open until 1986 when it moved for the second time back to it's original station site.

That is a shame.

A bit of history gone. It's a shame that BR allowed the second station to become so run down in the first place.

I once went there with the parents for a drink. It was more of a restaurant than a bar at the time though.

From the top picture, it looks as though the paintwork was in good order.
