Driver Fault finding and something else at Overground House, Swiss Cottage and depending on your success there. A visit to OPC, Watford for the other assessments. Then Driver Manager interview.

Mine is for conductor mate so might be slightly differnt I'd imagine.

You are right mate I have,been offered a job at FCC, got an assessment at LOROL & awaiting feedback from SWT...

Wouldn't you rather have a choice

I was not asking for any answers.

He has a point, I know of many managers who browse these forums and if your handle is your real name you really are not helping yourself, I used to recruit train drivers and I do know what I am on about. By the way I think the probation period is 2 years before you receive the full salary - correct me if I am wrong.

I've got four driver applications on the go and three conductor ones. You won't get anywhere fast if you apply to one job at a time, particularly nowadays.

The one with the best salary mate which I imagine is SWT as that is nearly £30k for guards before o/t.

I don't expect to be in that position if I'm honest just giving myself the best chance possible.

Yup, I have an application on hold with SWT (awaiting line manager interview for when more vacancies arise), depot driver at NXEA, and these two positions with LOROL. I hope I get at least one!!

I believe so mate. Approx £30k when passed out, LOROL conductor approx £25k, FCC C/S not sure but I'd imagine about £15k start.

Ah yes I thought you were going for driver ones as well. Bare in mind that SWT have a longer working week than the others - 43 hours, hence the higher salary.

At this very moment in time? None. I tend to check most/all TOCs everyday.

I created a new bookmarks folder in safari, bookmarked each TOC/FOC careers page, re-ordered them alphabetically, set the TOC bookmark folder to appear on the bookmark tool bar... hey presto.

Click open all in tabs... saves plenty of time

Some of the people in there were thick as sh it. Not being horrible but they clearly have other people filling out their app forms.

Hopefully will get to assessment 2 in Watford. Anyone been there & done that?

Well tagz when it comes to standing on their own 2 feet they get found out all too quickly. What's the point.

That's what I like about rail recruitment. You can make up stuff on the app form or even have someone else write it for you, but you can't blag your way through the tests! I've been for other jobs where I am in no doubt other applicants have told bare-faced lies and squeezed their way in undeservedly at the price of those of us that actually have a shred of integrity.

Notadriver-done a verbal & concentration tests today.

Verbal was 34 questions of multiple choice, the answers are in front of you obviously so its just a matter of finding them but a few were quite tricky.

Concentration test was about 6 pages of very strange looking little shapes all over the page in columns, probably about 300 shapes per page & you had to cross out all the ones that was at the top of the page, second lot you had to find 2 different shapes & the third batch you had to find the shape at the top of the page & the shape that starts each line.

Definitely enough to bamboozle a lot of people. My eyes were watering after the second one but I think I done ok. You literally get about a minute on each batch. Speed & accuracy are what they are looking for.
