LOROL Recruiting.

Hi,

First post on the forum,been a" voyeur" for some time.As the title says it looks like LOROL are recruiting for New Cross and Willesden.This may seem a bit forward of me but does anyone know of the salary that can be earned with this company ,on the job description it says £32k after training,is the ceiling?
Any help appreciated and good luck to those that apply.

I believe thats for first year only, will go upto around 46k after first year passed out

Aslef website lists all TOC salary details, current salary is 43,554, but will have increased to over 46,000 with the pay rise in a few months time, and yes its for driver

Just applied for both depots. Even though I've passed all drivers tests with SWT, I don't hold out much hope because I got turned down for conductor at LOROL. Think it might be to do with the questions they ask on the application form. Oh well here's to hoping and good luck everyone!

Not sure applying for both depots will help.In information supplied by LOROL it says that even if you apply for the wrong depot(ie within 1 hour commute by public transport) it could result in your application being cancelled.I may be wrong but don't think you could live within one hour of both!
Also did you upload your CV?

Hi Gary, yes I uploaded my CV. I rang recruitment to explain my situation as I live in the west country so definitely not within an hour of either! The woman said to put on my application form that I am planning to relocate and I have detailed that this would not be a problem due to the fact I do not have to sell houses or re-school kids. I may ring them up tomorrow to make sure my applications are not rejected on this basis! Thanks for the heads up!

I've had a brief look at the questions at the end of the application form(20-31).You have to select 2 answers.One jumps out at you straight away,not sure what they are looking for regarding the second as it seems on some there isn't a reply similar to the obvious one!!! Does this make sense???

The only bit of advice i can give you is to hope that your user name bears no resemblance to your real name because if someone from LOROL notices this post of you asking for help on a question then you may as well not bother with completing it..

Im not arguing with anyone.. Im pointing something out as from what i can gather you are asking for help in answering a question in direct relation to a position with LOROL.

If you or others feel that isnt so then my apologies..

I'm curious why is it 1 hour by public transport? not by say e.g. car? (only saying this because most places don't usually have buses until after 6am, but not certain about London but i doubt that everywhere has a night bus in London though?

yeh you can get anywhere in london on a night bus... even places you dont want to go but visit anyway cos you fell asleep

Yes, yes i do.. and as someone who employs people too i would not really think this was a good way to go around asking for help.

I am tempted to go for the driver job. But if I did get it, then failed the training. I would be stuck, especially as I would have given up a well paid job to join LOROL.

Just looked at the online application form, if that doesnt put you off, nothing will! I work for TFL, but even they dont have such a long winded process like this!

It is very long winded but then I think it's a very special job. Do you work on the tube or buses ?

Tube. I work in one of the Jubilee station control rooms, and train people for the job as well.

I was doing a trawl through all the TOC/FOC sites yesterday, fairly certain it was closing today (15th) at 5pm. Hope that helps

I applied last knockings last night & got a reply today offering me a place at an assessment day on the 25Th March. Seems like you have to have 2 assessment days and then a separate day with a line manager for interview if you pass assessments.

Driver Fault finding and something else at Overground House, Swiss Cottage and depending on your success there. A visit to OPC, Watford for the other assessments. Then Driver Manager interview.
