Hello everybody,

This is a brilliant forum, I've found out alot from previous threads for my tests next week. I have some questions that I'm hoping someone could help me on

1. The mechanical test prep, I am struggling with somewhat: I did the practise one and thought "this is easy!" but i only had half right I understand revising from a GCSE physics revision guide is best for this. (I have heard mixed opinions about the "mechanical and spatial relations" book, what do you guys think , worth the purchase?)

2. The fault finding test: The examples are OK but as we all know the real thing is invariably much tougher. Unfortunatly I couldnt find ANY mention of this anywhere, is this a new component? (It consists of looking for faults from a window panel showing the power, wipers, washers and electronic blinds. After identifying the fault you have to write it in a box.) Is there any website/book to practise this? Also, is this similar to the real test?

Sorry for all the questions but I would really appreciate any help as I would absolutely LOVE to pass this

The dials test nothing to worry about it is easy just have to put things in order once it is explained on the day you find it easy.The mechanical test is a little different get down the library and find books on physics etc.If you go onto the railway register website they recommend some books which I found useful but you may hsve left a bit late to sort as your test is next week.Failing that search on Internet for Mechanical Comprehension.And you must buy the game Bop It I did and works wonders for the reactions anyway good luck

I have already passed the driver assessment at southern, but at the managers interview they said i have to live with in 30 mins to victoria, i dont, about 1 hour and thats why i did not get it. Lorol need drivers and they have told me i only need to do a new test that they called fault finding.

so if any one has any info on this i would appreciate it.

Information is going to be pretty patchy on this test. I have been told it has changed from the original testing and has only just been brought in.

This as I was told from the OPC boff at watford just 3 weeks ago. My group were one of the last to have to do the old testing.

Good luck with it anyway and practise using your test booklet so you understand the concept of it before you go in, off by heart.

Sorry can't help but just wondering this conductor post is it an internal vacancy because there is nothing on their external vacancy list?
