Lorol Aassessment October

Hi all
First post from me! I have been reading the forum for a few weeks and thought I'd jump in with my first question, hopefully someone out there will be in the same position as me or be able to shed some light on my situation.
Basically I went for an assessment with Lorol on the 10th of october after applying online. The group I was in was told we would hear from Lorol with the outcome of the assessment within 7 days via email.
I'm assuming you would get a email if you pass or fail but I still have not heard anything?
Is this a normal amount of time to wait? Has anyone on the forum had an assessment recently with lorol and heard back?

Any advice or info would be very much appreciated

Hi mate well done to you is this for a trainee driver mate ? having gone through all the assessments and interviews myself recently with first ScotRail and passed the lot first time now looking forward to start training on the 5th.

What exactly have you got left to do on the 2nd stage...structured and reaction ???

I've got to do is a trainability test, a reaction test, a criteria based interview and a personality questionnaire!! Can't wait its also my first time so its all fingers and toes crosses at the moment!

Hi chad im in the same boat as you, I had my lorol assessment on the 15th Oct and got my second day of assessment next week does anyone know anything about the questionaire they want you to do and any insight into the trainability exam??

Hi Anthony I'm pretty sure the questionnaire is like the one we had to do online when we first applied but with a lot more questions and the trainability exam is bassed on you reading some information then answering some questions on said information Well I'm hoping that's the case!!
My cousin works for lorol I'm gonna pick his brains the weekend try get some info out of him see what he can remember although he's been there a little while now

The second stage is at OPC in Watford. The trainability for rules and procedures is a test of listening to a passage of text being played on a tape and reading it whilst making notes. The text and your notes are then taken away and you have to fill out a multiple choice test. Reaction and Coordination is the standard one. The personality questionnaire is done on a PDA, completely different to the one you did online. Remember to answer this truthfully and not what you think they want to hear, they can tell.

For the criteria based interview you will be given a set amount of time to write out answers to the questions they are going to ask you. They will then take this away and ask you to expand on them. They are not trying to catch you out, but trying to find that you have the qualities they are looking for. Try and be as full and expand as much as you can in your verbal answers. They more you say, the less they have to push for.

I'm a driver at New Cross Gate, I did this in 2010 so shouldn't have changed that much since then, if it has then I apologise

Thanks for the insight this is a good heads up just what I was looking for the more prepared I am the better!!
I think my cousin started at new cross in 2011 he's the one who got me onto lorol I've been patiently waiting for the positions to come up!
I just hope I do well with the interview I hear this is probably the most difficult

Does anyone know if the questionnaire is marked part of the assessment. I mean I was only told of the exams and interviews if you fail the questionnaire is that you out

Yes it is Anthony unfortunately. Any part failed and your application will not be taken further, including the personality questionnaire.
