Hi Looking for the best place in London to get freight in numbers tomorrow between 10am and 2pm any suggestions?

Have done Stratford to death and someone has suggested Gospel Oak. Having never been there, wondered what it was like for viewing and taking photos.

Thanks

Willesden Junction is also quite good for freight.

Clapham Junction? I don't speak from experience though, this is only a guess.

I would also say Gospel Oak and Willesden Junction are good for freight, check realtimetrains to see when there are freights due and you can get some good shots. Maybe South Tottenham as well, with the lines heading down to Seven Sisters?

There's a lot of freight due through South Tottenham between 10am and 2pm. Also still has a small signal box there.

Gospel oak and Willesden JN both had 4 freight trains through today between 10-2pm and south Tottenham had 3.

Claphan jn also had 4 so really just a question of which is best/easiest for the Op to get to.

Thanks for all the responses. Might do a mixture of Willesden, Gospel Oak and the ole faithful, Stratford.

I'm wondering though, is the bad weather causing freight cancellations from the WMCL or are they getting down from the north via diversionary routes?

Willesden Junction is pretty awful for photography in my opinion, on the WCML South Kenton is a favourite of mine, and a lot of the North London Line stations are good for the freights running along that stretch.

You could *maybe* pop along to Acton? Would expect their to be plenty of aggregates traffic hauled by 59's & 66's to/from the Mendip Quarries.

Just a thought, is Wandsworth Road still any good for freight? Not done the place myself, but believe traffic to/from Dollands Moor (Channel Tunnel) goes through there. Happy to be corrected if wrong.

Thanks

Ben
