Hi,

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I've been searching the web for some good scale drawings (front, side, etc) of a Class 158, but have had no luck.

I did come across this site http://www.pdhdrawings.com - they have a very comprehensive list of drawings for sale, but I contacted them at the start of the month and haven't heard back.

Would anyone happen to know where I could find what I'm looking for?

Thanks :)

Hmm. You could attempt to contact the various TOCs operating the class and see if any of their maintenance departments might have any such material which they are willing to share. What you really need however is to establish where all of the BR technical archive went when everything was carved up and sold off.

Who now runs the RTC (Railway Technical Centre), or has it long since ceased to exist?!

Another possibility might be to contact Bachmann who make a model of a 158, they might have used a set of scale drawings when making the moulds for the model.

Hi, thanks for your replies. Good ideas, I'll try and get in touch with Bachmann and a couple of TOCs and see what they say.

The Roscos might help you out too.
Ah thanks, didn't think of that, I'll try emailing them and see if I have any luck. Bachmann say they're unable to supply any reference material, so if the roscos can't help I'll try a couple of TOCs.

Search the forums for any mention of any company who has done major works on a 158, they might be another possibility

The RTC is very much a shadow of it's former self! The substantial offices have survived but very little railway activity is based there other than the workshops. I had various summer jobs at the RTC when I was a student at Uni and in the 1980's the place was a hive of activity.

Another possibility (probably unlikely though) would be the National Railway Museum
