Hello, I have been travelling around the UK a lot in the last 7 years via train and I was talking to my girlfriend and we was wondering if there was an app somewhere that could be easy to log which stations have been travelled to and an easy to use UI to see which haven't been travelled to. We got this idea after watching a Geoff Marshall video and he mentioned a video log for all the stations he's attended and wondering if there was an app of some sort that could do the same. Thanks

Railmiles could help you logging all your journeys, which in turn would help you see all the stations you have currently visited, but won't show you which ones you haven't been to. I haven't found any websites that specifically focus on stations though.

There are a couple of spreadsheets floating around though, such as the one found here https://www.everylaststation.co.uk/downloads [a link to the Every Last Station website's downloads page], where the stations are all listed and you can edit one of the columns to say if you've been there or not (I can't guarantee if it's up to date with the latest stations opened), that might be something that could help you?

How does railmiles function? I think that could be the way to go as long as i'll be able to add journeys ive done in the past as well

With Railmiles, you can indeed add previous journeys, as long as you have the departure location, date and time, and the arrival time. You would add all of the details into the "new journey" section. The website then finds your journey and adds some extra details like the operator, the length of journey, which trains (if information about this is available*). Once you press save, it'll be added to your journey total (you can edit it in the future if you need to.

* Not all operators show their unit allocations, such as Merseyrail and West Midlands Railway.

Once you've added a journey, in the menu if you select "Public Site", you can see a range of information, such as distance travelled, most recent journeys and most frequent journeys. If you go into the menu again on the public site, you'll be given options to see all journeys, and some statistics about the trains you've been on.

Railmiles is a paid for subscription, but it can make tracking your journeys easier. On the journeys page you can search for journeys that you've made, either by date, train (or train class) or operator but annoyingly (unless I can't see it) there isn't an option to directly search by station (although you could use Control + F, if on a laptop/computer, and find the stations that way)

Download a copy of the station usage figures (in Excel format), then save a copy using a new filename. Then delete the contents of all the other columns, and add your own new columns as required. Or just copy and paste all the station names into a single column of your own new Excel file, and then edit as required.
