Looking for a railway job at a station or driving trains

Good morning chaps

My name is Adam I live on the coastline 20 miles east of Durham in a village called Horden, there's plans in place to reopen the station here by march next year,

I'm hopeful that the reopening of the station may create trainee train driver positions for my area, I've kept checking and checking northern railways website for an opportunity but haven't heard of anything,

I'm currently a HGV driver this was kinda a plan B to my original plan A of becoming a train driver, I'd just like to thank all for this forum I've read through theres a good few hints and preparation tips

And as Les Brown says "it's better to be prepared and not have an opportunity, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared"

This is exactly what I intended to do, just thought I'd pop my head in and say Hi.

From what I’ve read it’s going to be a small unmanned station similar to Seaham. It’s extremely unlikely to ever have a driver depot or create any jobs. Your closest depots are Newcastle and Darlington both of which have advertised recently

The train service at Howden is most likely to be the existing trains service with the extra stop added in. As PH89 says, it is unlikely that any additional train crew jobs would be created. However, the new station would make it easier for you to travel to other depots in the area!

That's a shame about Horden station, I guess I was being hopeful it was going to somthing bigger and better but in all honesty it makes perfect sense,

I did sign up to new job alerts via northern rail but haven't heard of any trainee positions..........
