Stations used have to TECHNICALLY be in the same town or city...

EXCLUDING London Routes...

Probably unbeatable is Dublin Heuston to Dublin Connolly, which since the closure of the South Wexford line from Waterford to Rosslare a few weeks ago is now not actually possible. It was pretty convoluted even before the closure, requiring an overnight stay at Rosslare, but was still nonetheless doable.

It is possible to reverse just after the ECML and access North Gate, and there are indeed Lincoln - Nottingham trains which call at both Newark stations on Sundays!

Why only Sundays? Guessing it's a capacity reason.
