Hi All,

I am planning to travel from LGE to DBY one morning next week, returning early afternoon.

Then, I will be going LGE to NOT early evening and returning mid evening.

Will I need 2 separate returns for this or is there any kind of 'day ticket' I can buy?

Also....the reduced EMR timetable is more than irritating. I can return from Nottingham at about 21:30....or at 23:48 unless I want a comedy 1 hour journey. Even more frustratingly, some journeys between those times are technically possible via Derby...but the ticket does not appear to be valid....I suppose that last bit is more of a gripe than a question, but it is irritating that the timetable is cut but I bet there isn't any flexibility on fares/ticket validity.

Thanks very much for your help!

Trent Barton buses may be a better option.

They operate their Indigo Route Derby-Long Easton Nottingham. They are every 20 minutes or better until very late evening.
The Red Arrow route does Derby-Nottingham (via A52) in 35minutes every 10 minutes.
£6.60 cap after 9am, pay by contactless card.

Slower than the train, but more frequent and will save the walk to Derby station.

Bear in mind Long Eaton Railway Station is nowhere near Long Eaton, but it's in Sawley. Buses in Notts and Derbs are fantastic, the trains are not consistent.

£3 more expensive, but LGE-DBY and DBY-NOT returns would allow you
(1) to use a DBY-NOT that omits LGE (are there any ATM?)
(2) to come home the long way round.
BTW LGE-NOT seems to be valid via East Mids Parkway.
