Hi all,

I want to do this trip, primarily because I feel like checking out the PPM/139. NRE offers a routing via Leicester, Birmigham New Street / Moor Street / Snow Hill and Stourbridge Junction which is fine by me - I'd rather do that than go via Derby and a bus to Burton on Trest.

The CDR priced £18.80 carries restriction code BX, which does not allow travel on trains departing between 04:29 and 09:30, and between 15:30 and 18:15.

Ticket selling sites will not offer me this ticket if I want to return from Stourbridge Town after 12:40 until 18:40 - perhaps because I could not get all the way back to Long Eaton in one continuous trip without boarding a train somewhere en route (Birmingham New Street or Leicester) during the evening restriction period.

Can someone confirm whether (or not) it is legitimate to leave Stourbridge at [say] 14:40 or 15:10 before the evening restriction and go as far as Birmingham - by which time the evening restriction will have kicked in - and then break in Bimringham until after 18:15?

Thank you

Yes, that's permitted. The Restriciton BX:
Mondays - Fridays: Not valid on trains timed to depart after 04:29 and before 09:30 or after 15:30 until 18:16.
is at http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/bx and does not contain any prohibition on break(s) of journey.
