I am off to London this Thursday and comming back on Sunday. Is there any stations in central London that do not allow photography for personal use even if you go to the station reception first. hopefuly not.

Also talking of London. Tornado will be in Kings Cross on Saturday with the Cathedrals Express to York I dont know what time it will be in Kings Cross though.

None shouldn't not let you take pictures but of the major terminus stations but Waterloo, London Bridge, Victoria, St Pancras, Charing Cross, Fenchurch Street, Marylebone and some platforms at Kings Cross, Paddington and Euston have gates. I would advise going to a station just out of London like Clapham Junction, Stratford, Harrow & Wealdstone, Watford Junction, West Hampstead etc. Also i would advise going to the ticket office at London Bridge and getting a platform ticket (i've asked for one several times and got one without any hassle) and going to the end of platform 5/6 from london Bridge you can get the Northern Line to Kings Cross

Just ask, they're usually fine with it. Never had an issue. Why would they? Tourists wouldn't be too pleased...

Super well i have managed to video 4 network rail stations without a problem because i have gone to reception first so i should have no problem doing the same in central London also its my very first time down there. I will tell you how at all went when i come back.

Clapham Junction will be one of the stations i will go to

Oh and the times should be up in the next few days if they dont appear before Thursday then i will just ask staff at Kings Cross

It just seems a bit unusual using a triple negative.

I didn't have any problems at Paddington (entered via the footbridge from the Hammersmith and City line), Kings Cross (IC platforms) or St Pancras when I went last time. However, it's probably best to advise the station reception that you're there and/or get a platform ticket beforehand; IIRC Marylebone is a Compulsory Ticket Area so you should get a platform ticket beforehand anyway if you go there.

The train i am getting to London from Durham is 1417 NXEC calling at Darlington, Northallerton, York, Doncaster, Retford, Newark North Gate, Grantham and then Kings Cross. for me its just £20 with my railcard and my mam who is comming with me £30 we booked our advance fares a few months ago.

And the one comming back on Sunday morning is at 0900 again NXEC calling at Stevenage, Peterborough, Grantham, Doncaster, York, Darlington then Durham

Judging by the look of it traveling on the trains in London looks fun.

Liverpool Street is full of little hitlers pretending to be security staff. Didnt have any problems at other stations other than Victoria but that was because someone had jumped under a train just outside the station and the place was in near shut down. but the staff were courteous and apologetic.

I finshed my filming of the London stations today and here is the photography report. At each station i went to the station reception.

Liverpool Street - photography not allowed
Kings Cross - no problem
St Pancras - no problem
Euston - no problem
Marylebone - no problem
Paddington - no problem
Victoria - no problem
Charing Cross - no problem
Waterloo - no problem (took time to sign in though)
Blackfriars - no problem
Cannon Street - no problem
London Bridge - no problem
Fenchurch Street - no problem

I didnt even have a single problem on the Underground and not a problem at Clapham Junction.

Staff were friendly at each station except Liverpool Street so a complaint about Liverpool Street went to Network Rail.

Just thought it might be NXEA staff being obstructive because of the barriers there; you know NX's attitude when it comes to enthusiasts (Darlington).

It was nothing to do with NXEA staff and theres nothing wrong with NXEC staff it depends on where you go.

You are correct i should not of been refused i wasnt going to use a tripod or flash and so i was following the rules.

This staff member was a total jobsworth i sent the complaint on Friday so i should get a reply in the next few days. but other than that staff were very good at the other stations and i am now in the middle of capturing my stuff.

Its all to do with that TV advert where literally thousands of folk turned up to make an advert without the film crew telling the staff just how many folk there would be. Filled the concourse. Guess they area bit wary

Mind if you're quick you can get a shot of the 90's at Liverpool St. I then got approached by two security thugs (shandy drinking southern poofs) who tried it on. But due to their gutless actions and big mouths disappeared rather quickly when I told them I was on my way to see the Duty manager (which I was to simply sign in and let them know my intentions to take photos) and needed their names, as I wished to report them as been impolite and aggressive in their actions which contravened not only my personal rights under the Human Rights Act and those of a fare paying passenger. I also informed them that I felt their actions were aggressive and of such a manner I may have to make representation to the Police in fear of my safety and the safety of a minor.

Having taken that I decided to leave. Mind wish I had made a complaint to the police maybe that way things may have changed to taking photos at Liverpool St. BTW if you use your mobile phone to take pictuures nobody seems to give a damn. Odd that

Network Rail phoned me yesterday but because i was at college my mam answered. Network Rail said they could not understand why i wasnt allowed to take photos. Hopefuly an e-mail will come through in a day or two.

Last time I went to Liverpool Street, I didn't get hassled for getting a couple of phots of D1015, that said, I did ask one of the gate staff if I could...

I was at Liverpool Street last week photographed 90036 on an NXEA train got some funny looks from some staff (there was engineering works so i photted from across the gateline) but when i went to the other side of the station i took some of a 170 some member staff shouted 'oi' from a distance knowing what he was going to say i carried on until he came right up to me and said i couldn't take no pictures as it was 'not allowed'. I argued for a while saying that it is allowed as said so but Network Rail, National Rail and BTP on their websites and he was talking nonsense after realising i wasn't going to get anywhere i went. Many NXEA staff were just standing around doing absolutely nothing at the ends of the platforms and when i saw some chav walk past with a Staff Bull Terrier drinking a can of beer all of them done absolutely nothing.
