Sorry if I have got this in the wrong thread...

Next week I am thinking of going to London Waterloo East. I was wondering what it is like for trainspotting. Do you have to sign in or can you go straight onto the platforms.

Thank You

It's SE so you should be fine, no flash, no tripods etc... I don't actually think it has a booking office, so just let the platform staff know what you are doing, as per.

You should get every class SE has, nothing more, nothing less

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much going on at Bridge, more stock etc, but so many people that it can be hard to get a clear shot, and you can't get many numbers either. WAE is quieter, especially off-peak, and you should be able to keep on top of the 25-30 trains an hour that pass through.

If you go to the Network Rail reception desk and sign in as a visitor, you should be fine.

Taking numbers at london bridge isnt impossible during the rush hour as i did this on thursday but you will miss the odd few out as sometimes you'll have 4 trains in each direction leaving at the same time but deffinately worth a visit.

I agree. Plus London Bridge is no worse than Clapham Junction...

Last time when I went to London Bridge I got told I had to go and sign in at the National Rail office, as I didn't have much time I decided not to and went to Kings Cross. As I may not have much time again, is there a better chance of me just getting onto the platform?

I bet it's At Your Own Risk !
You will lose more time if a staff member wants to "talk to you"...
