Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any idea who makes the uniforms for London Underground staff?

I would like to know where to get London underground uniforms, including shoes...

Thanks!

If you where lookign for a rough approximation (maybe for a fancy dress party?) Then the suit, trousers and shirt+tie would be easy. then some sufficiently rugged, yet smart looking boots. However the hat would be the hard on. A few months ago I did steal a policemans hat (well he left it in a chip shop, and we took it back to the station :) ) However Im not sure where you could get a hat of they style, in that colour + decals

Sadly all our uniform has to be returned for destruction.... For safety reasons apparently....

What items are you after in particular

You'll have trouble buying uniform, even direct from a manafactuer.

As Sadelta99 states out uniform is returned to be destroyed for quite obvious security reasons.

A member of staff needs to be quite careful with what they do with their uniform once they're finished with it. I've previously found a member of the public wearing an LU waistcoat underneath his jacket and the BTP were quite interested with him based on simply that.

That's the old uniform in that image.

As said uniform is returned for security reasons.

The current footwear have gone back to Doctor Martens (but I think they're made in Asia now).

London Underground uniform remains the property of London Underground at all times and must be relinquished upon cessation of employment with LUL. For security and fraud prevention reasons items of uniform are not available to members of the public. Even if you approximate the look purchasing similar items your motives for wanting to appear like a member of staff could well be questioned - especially on or close to LU trains or stations. If it's for a fancy dress party or you are far enough away from London so that no one recognises it as such then it may be okay. Any members of staff selling on items of uniform could find themsleves liable for dismissal and/or prosecution as could individuals touting the stuff on e-bay or wherever. Technically even old issues of uniform from years past are still the 'transport's property' though I haven't come across anyone being done for selling stuff from LTB days.
