Yes that probably won't be hard, the more annoying part will be having to be at the back half (Quarter for central) of the train all the time to get the 2nd portions' number.

You know... except for the middle two units on the Central formations, you could use Intertube to glean both halves... it shows the change when the train reverses if you just scroll down the history a short way.

Oh that's incredibly useful, I wish I'd known about that years ago, I would probably have significantly more tube trains marked seen (especially the Bakerloo line, it's pretty hard to read numbers from a Pendolino at speed).

Apologies if this has been raised multiple times but I've noticed two halves of a Jubilee Line 1996 stock dumped in a siding at Stratford Market Depot, one covered with graffiti and they haven't seem to have moved in over a year. Any idea which 1996 stock sets they are and what the story is with them?

This potential confusion is exactly why I only ever use the 92xxx numbers when writing these units down for haulage...

I am attempting to ride on every vehicle of the S7 fleet. I think I might run out of years. Only had every vehicle on four sets so far. There are five sets that I have never travelled on at all.

Can you not claim each one simply by walking through the sets while they are in motion?

Out of curiosity, which are the five you haven't found yet? People on here are very good at knowing if something is stopped long term.

I want to have each car for at least one stop. I do sometimes switch cars at stations. On closer inspection, there are six missing.

21323 is the sole surviving S7+1, and is out on the Met most days. You’ll be waiting a while if you try and get is as an S7.

21487 is long term stopped. I can’t see anything obvious with the rest but I don’t have my full range of tools available at the moment.

21333/4 and 21463/4 are out on the District right now according to Intertube.

21415/6 is on the Circle.

...so those three are certainly available.

I was surprised to see S7 set 21487/88 running on the District line at Barking yesterday, as it has been out of service for a significant period of time.

Yes, 21487/488 has definitely been back out in service recently, I was on it on 24th Feb.

This set has been stopped at Ealing Common since March 2020 (5 years tomorrow as it happens according to the list).

21487/488 were in use yesterday finishing at Upminster on train 45, however is showing as stopped today - hopefully this will be a quick fix!

Of the rest:
21323/324 are at Neasden Depot having been stopped since being stabled from train 436 on Saturday 15 February.
21333/334 are on District train 63 today.
21463/464 stabled at Upminster on train 107 last night, but is stopped for an exam this morning.
21415/416 are on C&H train 271 today.

You don't happen to know exactly where 469/470 is at Ealing Common do you? I've been passed the depot numerous times and never been able to pick out which set it is.

The list says it is on 21 road. That is one of four roads adjacent to the Museum Depot on the South Western side (the same side the District and Piccadilly lines pass). These roads are known as 'the Alps', but I don't know why! 21 road is the closest to the passing District and Piccadilly EB line, but there is a line of trees and the higher depot outlet line between these roads and the mainline, so I am not sure whether the set would be visible from a passing train. It might just be visible at the gate to the Museum Depot on Museum Way (where it would be the furthest left road). This all assumes that the 21 road listing is correct, which I cannot guarantee!

The list says derailment, but I don't have any details of what actually occurred. The S7 fleet was specified for a 32 tph service that can't be introduced until some of the remaining 4LM works have been completed and so peak utilisation is lower than would be expected over the long term, which (together with the pandemic) has probably led to this unit not being prioritised for return...

Ah right, thanks very much for that. So yes, it is visible from the passing tube, but I couldn't see well enough to see the number. I'll try going past again next week and take my camera, might stand a better chance of confirming it's that unit. Thanks for the help, I'll report back next week

At least if Trackernet is to be believed (and engineering vehicles do normally show up) the TRV (Track Recording Vehicle) has not operated any of the planned path so far today and is not showing up at any of the reversing points in the vicinity...

It has a tendency to operate early and off path to be honest. The planning rules and what is possible on the operational railway don't always align, so it can often get more done on one day than on others. Personally I would never share days that have had a TTN issued because it often doesn't run. Most times I've seen it personally have been ad-hoc runs anyway!
