That is absolutely not how it works, recruitment is anonymised and the whole reason it’s been put out to an external campaign is to offer jobs to external candidates - which has happened.
yes it’s anonymous but once you read the rest of the CV/covering letter it will show your job title, roles and responsibilities - it’ll be clear you work there.
I’m not saying it’s solely on being an internal candidate because externals have apparently got jobs too, but let’s be honest, having the TfL/LU background/experience will help massively and go a long way.
Not taking nothing away from anyone, Im just saying.

Respectfully you sound a little bit salty as I’m guessing that you didn’t get the role which isn’t cool mate. Give props to those who got it and leave it as that. Both internal and external candidates have been offered the role. I can assure you if my CV/cover letter was poor wouldn’t have moved to next stage same with the interview if it was so bad I wouldn’t have been offered the role. Ultimately whether internal or external you need to perform at the interview and all the other stages - priority isn’t given to internal candidates otherwise it would just be an internal campaign
i think there is an advantage in this job to knowledge of LU operational communications standards and rules and procedures in general.
i think considering the amount of LU applicants that do not get internal and external jobs speaks for itself, but i think it’s uncalled and juvenile for @Zb0905 to insinuate it’s just LU free for all.
at the end of the day it’s knowing your stuff, having relevant experience and examples and performing on the day. don’t degrade anyone for succeeding please

How long after the interview did you hear back from them? Had mine 25th June- still waiting to hear back..
About a week and two/three days.
Interview was 9th June found out 18th was successful.

I do agree that internals have a better chance of getting the job, however this is not because of the interveiwing but because of knowledge that internal procedures.
anyone who has worked on the operational side has a good idea of what a line controller does and what they need to know, therefore will have a good idea of what this roll entails, even if the interviews do not ask about railways at all the internal would have a much better idea of the expected answers.

Tbh I thought it went well, but was unsuccessful guess I didn't meet their benchmark. That was the feedback I got lol

Another prime example of an EXTERNAL candidate getting the role! Yet LU staff are allegedly given priority smh. - Once again well done mate. The waiting time from here on now might be long, just try to be patient, you’ve got the role and will start in due time. From my understanding there’s three planned course dates. August/October/December. So you probably won’t here anything until those dates draw closer, obviously in the meantime I’m sure they’ll get your medical/references all done so you’re good to start once they figure out who they want on next course

@JCole still nothing mate. I reckon it’s pretty much done and I will receive a rejection email soon once they have the numbers required to fill the roles.
Others on this thread who passed AC1 stage at the same time, or after me have already heard back though whether they’ve been successful or unsuccessful at CV stage weeks ago, which is odd.

Can you not email for an update if it’s been so long with no contact?
I have emailed them twice and received the same generic response:
“We have no update at present and will notify you as soon as there is firm news to share.”
I’m sure my update will come eventually , hopefully this week

There has been a delay in the CV & Cover Letter screening process so we are unable to provide you with your outcome at present.
We are working through this as quickly as we can and are hoping to be able to provide you with your result within the next 4 weeks.

Just wondering if anyone else who went through the assessment process for this vacancy was told they’d be placed on a select list for a future vacancy rather than being offered the role right away?
I’m a bit confused because during my interview this wasn’t mentioned at all, and the job advertisement clearly didn’t state anything about a select list. I’ve now been told that I’ll be placed on one, and honestly, I feel a bit let down. I went through the whole process thinking it was for a vacancy and would be able to start once I was allocated a course, not to be put on a waiting list. Seems to be a bit of a shambles..

Wait lists or "Talent Pools" are a very common part of railway recruitment. So you've reached a pass mark, but other people have scored better than you who have been appointed for the number of vacancies. So instead of TfL having to go through the whole recruitment process again, they maybe select one or a few people to be placed into this talent pool so they call you up if/when a vacancy arises.
How long you will be it in is basically "how long is a piece of string" and seeing as they've just hired a bunch of people into the OCO role, it might be longer than other gaps. Hopefully it is well maintained and they will reach out to you once a position is available.
