Kind of understandable why they have done so many assessments now. Big reorganisation it seems. Good luck everyone

Do you need control experience to be even considered past the CV part?

If you don’t have control experience will they even consider you?

Anyone have any idea to that

I’m going to say yes. Control room experience gives you a bigger advantage as you would have the necessary skills in that sort of environment. Depends how you interview if you make it, but control experience would be looked at I’m guessing

No, you don’t need control room experience. It absolutely helps - and if everyone else has it you would naturally be at a disadvantage - but this is an entry level role and you will learn everything you need to know on the job. It’s very common nowadays for LU internal staff to go from CSA to Service Controller in one jump - this is a fraction of the workload.

@bluegoblin7 , has the role officially gone live? Seems like people still in training, recruiting etc

No - the new RCC model doesn’t step up until October. However, the role is almost identical to the existing NICM role within the LUCC, and as such anyone who completes training will be gainfully employed.
Hi @bluegoblin7, do you know the timeframe for when we find out about if we have an interview? and when they expect new recruits to start?
I’m afraid not - I don’t get that level of oversight for recruitment. But, as above, the model is due to step up in October, and the recruitment timelines proposed supported this. Unfortunately the closer we get to that date the less insight I will have, as the RCC will no longer be part of my TU remit.

Yes. Train Op is by fair the main feeder, followed by CSS, but there are plenty of CSAs who have qualified or are in training as SCL2.

RCC - Rail Control Centre
NICM - Network Information Coordination Manager
LUCC - London Underground Control Centre
TU - Trade Union
CSS - Customer Service Supervisor
CSA - Customer Service Assistant
SCL2 - Service Controller Level 2

Ok thanks. So say you’re successful in the role after interview, you’re basically training until it goes fully live? Will you still be on the salary advertised?

Cover letter/ CV checks for next stage of interview if you pass the assessment. That’s what a lot of us on here are patiently waiting for as some of us passed our assessments 1 month ago. I Can’t believe assessments are still on going

Yes i know but seems like a massive list of assessment candidates as this has been on going for months. I passed my assessment over a month ago. I think some have passed even before me.
