I've not been asked to redo that but it was only just over a month ago, not sure how long the gap has to be before you need to retake.
oh yes, thats right, makes sense that they wont have to do it again, it lasts 6 months.

They have said to me I will probably have to do it again, as it’s looking like september start for me

I have never heard training for an LUL job as fun. It certainly wasn't like that in my day at the RTC. Neither the Booking Office or the Station Supervisor courses could never be described as "fun"

The recruitment process has changed since I started in 2019… Something about completing games now?!

Anywho! Anybody who fails, keep trying. It took me six attempts to finally pass and it’s very rewarding when you do. It’s speak to do your research on the role and general customer service knowledge, it will help you pass things such as SJT’s and roleplay scenarios.

Crazy! When I applied it was an invite to an assessment to do maths and English. Once successful, you went and did the roleplay exercise and interview on the same day. I then had to wait for the outcome and training date. When I speak to some of my colleagues about the puzzles, they enjoyed doing it.

hey guys

i thought it might be good to mention, for those who didn’t get through last time round or for those who are thinking of making the jump;

an foi has been submitted and they could be looking to do another csa 2 or even csa 1 campaign later on this year, maybe around november.

:)

It may as well be a CSA 1 campaign as they get the licence straight away now. The CSA 2 role is broadly the same now, besides being on less wages and having 3 weeks less annual leave.

I got trained to be a csa 1
Everyone does, and some new trainees get posted to a CSA1 only station and gain an immediate substantive grade CSA1. But some get posted to a CSA2 station and remain as as CSA2 (with a CSA1 licence).

It doesn't matter which licence a person holds - it only matters what their "Substantive Grade" is.

My only experience of CSA life is from the CSAs who travel in my cab with me, so I'm only relaying that info. If a CSA2 is doing the work of a CSA1, then that CSA should be getting paid Higher Grade Work for the period of that work (minimum 2 hours IIRC.)

This is what happens - substantive CSA2s will be paid HGW if they cover CSA1 duties.

CSA2s are trained throughout as CSA1 but there is no guarantee of a CSA1 role. The CSA2 grade isn’t going anywhere, it is simply the fact that staff turnover has led to it becoming little more than an administrative process.

CSA 2’s are getting a lot of HGW instead of doing the simple CSA 2 duties that were in place when I started.

Ticket office training is only offered to select few candidates, so many are now coming into stations with no ticket office licence, which was mandatory to pass to obtain the role when I joined.
