London underground CSA 2

Hi all
just noticed an advert of CSA level 2 on t/l website, what is this all about?? i noticed that salary is well below the usual 32k, now it is advertised as 23k with same duties as CSA.
Can someone shed light on this please.

CSA2 is station staff but not safety critical, so you won't be dispatching trains etc. You'll be on the gateline and helping other members of staff.

thanks for the answer looks bit unfair to me, some CSA in small stations do not dispatch trains tho still get full CSA pay! ain't it bit of discrimination?

Dispatching trains isn't the only safety critical part of the job. CSA1's will have main roles during emergencies and go on to the track if needed, amongst other things. If its a smaller station then it'll likely be a station supervisor (or Customer Service Manager nowadays) who will have to scotch and clip points, operate traction current section switches and a whole lot else.

It's worth it if you want to get into TfL. There is scope to progressing to CSA1 or even Train Operator as I believe they are currently recruiting internally for them.

You do realise that TfL have a massive financial black hole, don't you, partly due to successive mayors making unrealistic promises and forcing TfL to deliver them?

There will be some tough times ahead.

I have noticed that they have re-posted this position. The original one was back in December I think.hope it all goes well

I have been called for the 3rd assessment which is the final part, I hope I 'll pass it and move. Four stages for customer service role. Did anyone knows if tfl pay allowance like weekend and bank holiday.
