London Underground careers

Hi,
As someone who's hobby is to travel across the tube and look at underground maps(including detailed LU tracks map obtained from FOI) all day, what careers are out there in the LU that involve planning/management of lines/depots/stations etc. Preferably a white collar job(not customer service assistant/driver etc) in which I would have a say and would have bearing.

Graduate scheme or project manager.

Even then it would be years till you had any actual say.

Plus given what you have said you would fail tremendously at attempting to manage a depot or a line if you see yourself as above the drivers.

They will make your life incredibly difficult, and you will either be fired or moved out of the way for poor performance.

A good start would be to check the TFL careers page.

Just by going on there you will see there are several roles that are not customer service based...

Schedule Compiler (which is the Tube's name for Train Planning).

Pays better than the mainline companies do for that sort of work too.
