There's only a couple of quid in it, but it doesn't appear to state what age it applies to, just "senior citizens". Is that 60, 65 or 66? Thanks!!!?

I'm guessing state pension age. I'm 60 next year and would be pretty miffed if I was classed as a "senior citizen" then.

Thanks, I spent two years waiting with anticipation to get my hand on a senior rail card, now I have to spend 2.5 yrs waiting for my bus pass and concessionary rates!

The minimum age for concessionary rates seems to be 65 almost everywhere now. I’ve not seen anywhere yet where it is 66, but I’m sure it won’t be long before that happens. Five years ago, when I reached 60, there were lots of places, including most heritage steam railways, where the minimum age was 60 and I was able to pay the concessionary price. Since then most places have raised the age to 65 and so therefore ironically as I got older I no longer qualified at 63 or 64 for the reduced rate. The Senior Railcard valid from 60 has been fantastic to have.

I now have to wait an extra year until I am 66 before I get my bus pass. To be quite honest, I’m just grateful that I will still be getting one. I never thought that by the time I reached 66 the bus pass would still be available in its current form. I was fortunate to be able to retire early with a reasonably adequate pension from work and my state pension and bus pass will be a nice bonus when I get it later this year. During these last 6 years, since I retired I have sometimes been just about the only person using the bus service through my village who is actually paying the extremely high fares.

Has anyone asked the London Transport Museum for a definitive response?
